On May 16, prof. Dra. Lúcia Helena Mascaro Sales presented a lecture at the "Bar do Carmo" in the city of Araraquara during the Pint of Science, the largest international event of scientific divulgation. This year's event took place in 11 countries simultaneously and in Brazil events were held in 22 cities in the most diverse environments, such as bars, cafes and restaurants.

The event is aimed at the scientific diffusion outside the walls of the university, with the objective of bringing to society the news and the progress in research and to remove the still stigmatized view of society on science.

Professor Lúcia's lecture on "Renewable Energy and Green Chemistry" focused on the use and dissemination of alternative forms of energy, which have intensified in recent years, the new methodologies developed and the significant amount of research and technology in the Chemical processing focused on sustainability. She also addressed the impact of these alternative technologies on green chemistry and the sustainability of chemical manufacturing.
