CERSusChem leadership meet Dr. Rajender Varma, an external member of the centre

Dr. Rajender Varma, an external member of CERSusChem, is in Brazil to attend to the 46th World Chemistry Congress da IUPAC. Dr. Varma has published more than 400 scientific papers and is one of the global leading researchers in Green Chemistry. His keynote lecture, “Sustainable Pathways to Platform Chemicals from Biomass Using Nanomaterials and Graphitic Carbon Nitrides”, in which Dr. Varma showed results of collaborations with members of the centre, was acknowledged by hundreds of people.

During his visit to Brazil, Dr. Varma met with CERSusChem’s director Prof. Dra. Arlene Correa, the coordinators of technology transfer and dissemination of knowledge, Prof. Dra. Quezia Cass and Prof. Dra. Lúcia Mascaro, and the research manager Dra. Carolina Lima. During the meeting, topics of interest in the field of Sustainable Chemistry were discussed, as well as future perspectives for the centre.
