CERSusChem has participated in the 14th Week of Chemistry of UFSCar
CERSusChem was one of the sponsors of the 14th Week of Chemistry of Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), held from August 28th to September 1st, 2017, and attended by a total of more than one hundred subscribers, who had the opportunity to attend several mini-courses and lectures throughout the week. The objective of the event was to promote the dialogue among students, teachers, industry professionals, sharing knowledge and processes necessary for the knowledge generated to go through the walls of the University and to be used to bring benefits to society.
The opening of the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Aldo José Gorgatti Zarbin, president of the Brazilian Chemical Society, who presented the lecture "Multifunctional materials based on carbon nanostructures", in addition to participating in the roundtable opening of the event.
One of the main activities promoted by CERSusChem in the week was the mini-course titled "Applications of Green Chemistry in catalytic processes", which was given by Prof. Dr. Arlene Gonçalves Correa from the Federal University of São Carlos, by Prof. Dr. Luciana Gonzaga de Oliveira, from University of Campinas and Dr. Carolina G. de S. Lima also from the Federal University of São Carlos. The course has among its main topics a presentation to the principles of Green Chemistry, more sustainable methods for the preparation and application of heterogeneous catalysts and the use of enzymes in organic synthesis.
Also received sponsorship from CERSusChem the mini-course "3D printing: Print your dreams", taught by Prof. Dr. Ricardo Cunha Michel of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where the practical principles of object modeling for FFF (fused filament fabrication) type 3D printing were presented.
