Brazilian Professor wins the 2017 Elsevier Foundation Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge

Professor Denis Pires de Lima, from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, was the winner of the 2017 Elsevier Foundation Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge. The five finalists of the Challenge presented their projects during the 2nd Green and Sustainable Chemistry Conference, which took place from 14 to 17 may, in Berlim, Germany. The winning work was that of Prof. Pires de Lima, which consists on the preparation of a surfactant with insecticide activity against Aedes aegypti larvae, produced from cashew nut and castor oil.
