Chemistry in Action - 2017 Edition

Between July 17 and 21, the Institute of Chemistry of UNICAMP promoted the event Chemistry in Action, which aims to disseminate Chemistry to high school students of public schools in the region of Campinas in the São Paulo state.

Eighty students participated this year and developed activities at the laboratories of the Institute of Chemistry in Campinas and visited, in São Carlos, the laboratories of the Center for Scientific and Cultural Divulgação of USP (CDCC) and the laboratories of CERSusChem at UFSCar.

At UFSCar the students, accompanied by prof. Dr. Adriana Vitorino Rossi was received by the director of CERSusChem, prof. Dr. Arlene Gonçalves Corrêa and the Coordinator of Education and Dissemination of Education, prof. Dr. Lúcia Helena Mascaro. The students visited five laboratories accompanied by researchers and received an introduction to the function of each laboratory, in addition to witnessing small experiments.
