Supercritical Fluid Chromatograph ACQUITY UPC2 Mass Spectrometer

Waters Xevo TQD

The ACQUITY UltraPerformance Convergence Chromatography with mass spectrometer is a multi-user equipment of the CERSusChem acquired by the grant FAPESP 2016/20609-8.  This new technology provides both high speed and resolution without sacrificing basic parameters of the analysis. A very important characteristic of this system is the rate at which analysis can be executed - this factor will facilitate the identification and characterization of the synthesized and natural compounds, and thus, the results can be obtained in a quickly and effectively way.

This device has supercritical CO2 as mobile phase in the presence of small amounts of a co-solvent. This feature avoids the need to purchase special solvents, which are generally expensive, being a waste free apparatus - therefore contributing to the principles of green chemistry.
